I would connect it to the battery directly, that way whether the bike is on or off, the GPS will not die on you, which forces you to reset. Just make sure you have a 1A fuse box on electrical line.
RAM-Mounts are the best, that's what I use with my Garmin V.
The one issue IMHO is that it is quite exposed when mounted on a bike and I'd hate to see the result of a high speed crash. Unless they come with a mount as protective as the one they developed for the V (that's what I have below, I advise you use the U bolt the same short arm). |
