Husaberg 650 vs Husky 610 vs Husky 570

Ok this is what I have narrowed it down to.....Give me what you have. I know that the engine of the 610 and 570 are basically the same, pros and cons of all 3 bikes? I know that the Berg has a smaller oil capacity, I also know that the Berg has more power.....but I am sure that the Huskys have plenty ample power.

Just let me know what you think. Thanks.

Contrast and compare the different bikes overall build design, brake components, suspension components, weight, hp, torque, maintenance schedules, etc. Follow the manufacturer links for spec sheets.

Do you want a road legal bike with lights, turn signals, etc?

Specs are one thing but it helps alot if you can sit on the different bikes to see and feel the differences for yourself.

Today's bikes are all very good in different ways. Some bikes are better than others but it's tough to pick a bad bike.

It really depends on what you are looking for and what you expect in a bike. The closest Husky to the Berg 650 is the Husky TE510 (or the KTM 525 EXC). Both the Husky and the KTM are street legal. The Husky 510 weighs about 10 more pounds than the Berg and the KTM is within 2-4 pounds of the Berg. The Husky 610 is more of a road going bike, similar to the Honda XR650L, Suzuki DR650 and the Kaw 650 KLX. The Husky 610 weighs in the neighbohood of 325 pounds while the Berg is much lighter weighing in at about 255 or so pounds.

Are you looking at new bikes? Husky stopped building 570s a few years ago, and the only 610s available are super heavy and street legal. I'll assume you're looking at the "dirt" versions of the Husky because that what I own. I don't know much about the newer street legal versions.

The engines are completely different animals (the non e-start 610 and 570 are virtually the same). The short stroke 650 Berg has instant power when compared to the lazy but super torquey output of the long stroke 610. 610s are deceptively fast, but no match for a big Berg.

The weight difference between the dirt 610/570 and a 650 Berg is like 10 to 20 lbs. depending on year and model. In reality the Berg feels like it's 75 lbs. lighter though, and it has electric start.

Huskys are slow turners but nothing is more stable, the Berg is WAY more agile and still pretty stable at speed. Brakes are a little better on the Berg, both have Brembos.

I like the suspension on my Husaberg better than that on my 2000 610. The Showas on my '95 610 are suprisingly on par with the Berg, but they had to have Race Tech modify them to be this good.

The Husky deffinately has a better rep. for dependability. My '95 has a gazillion miles on it and all I've done is replace wear or crash damaged items. Both the Husky and Berg require frequent oil changes.

There is a guy called Sethro who frequents this site, he has a real nice newer TE610 and a 650 Berg, plus he lives near you. Maybe you could PM him for his feedback.

Although the Huskys cannot match the handling / manueverability of a Hbg, the te570 is hard to fault, it is truly a stellar machine.
