Cleveland cycle world bike show

OK...... I have read all the feel good stories about the new berg distributor and how they want a presence in the midwest and east coast. I drove 2 1/2 hrs to the cycle-world Cleveland bike show last weekend. would someone please explain why I didn't see the husaberg name anywhere? KTM and husky had an appearence there. I even had a jap salesman tell me that the euro mfg companies don't care about us here in the states.........especially the eastern area. he told me once they got east of missouri husaberg started disappearing at the shows, and the ktm presence got smaller. WTF !!!!!!!!!. wake up people.....we have alot of trails around here and some motard tracks.. don't forget about the few and far between........i understand business.........but when I bought me berg in a box last year and put it together, I felt alot better a year ago about the brand. I think i have the only berg in ohio. I know better cuz our ktm dealer has a 96 fe600 (no e start) that is in his storage shed cuz no one wants to pay his prices. I offered him $1500 for it and he laughed. we need a factory presence here east of the mississippi, we know the bikes are bullet proof with a sweet ride but your missing out on alot of sales not being at the bike shows........

thanks for letting me vent........

There was no Husaberg booth at the Novi, Michigan expo either. The KTM booth was small, the Husky booth was very nice.

We are taking our FE 650's to the "largest show in the Western Hemishphere"

I've been 2 years in a row, and not seen any Berg presence. Not anymore!

I can see and understand your frustration. Sounds like the rep was feeding your fire as well, which is what they are supposed to do.

Husaberg precense in the shows certainly will make you feel that you have made the right decision regarding your purchase, and we have just not been able to do it. However Husaberg presence may change with Fred Hoess involved with Dixie Sales, and while his expertise is Gas Gas, we spent sometime last week going over the Husaberg and he will be working to expand the dealer network and presence of the brand.

2Moto has a unique product and it will attract attention to the brand.

Hindsight being 20/20...
I speak as a former dealer.

With these smaller brands, the dealers need to get together and get a booth in the big shows in their areas. We did a group booth with Gas Gas one year at the Minneapolis Cycle World show and split the cost between the dist. and the dealers.

2Motos got the right idea.

Right, I did see a full page ad in the latest Dirt Rider magazine from Dixie Sales.... In my opinion (that's all it is), money is better spent putting the machines in front of people -- bikes for magazine tests (new, comparisons, long-term, projects, at competitions, etc...). As all of at this board knows the bikes will speak for themselves.... And if the distributor is not comitted (ie: invest in some demo extra machines and a good replacement parts inventory) then the guys doing the actual servicing and selling will need to step up to the plate -- kind of like the owners of the racing teams did in Indy car racing a few years back...

I went to the International Show in Seattle back in December and KTM and Husaberg were no shows. If it wasn't for Beaudrys having one of each of their bikes there there would have been no orange (KTM) or yellow/blue (Husaberg) bikes. Even Husky had a couple of enduros and d/s bikes. I know KTM has a pretty substantial market in the Northwest and Husaberg sells a few bikes here too. Why no presence?
