Tuts,

Have you tried Alpinestars? I wear size 14's and, though my feet aren't especially wide, I do have pretty large calves (again, not sure anybody really wanted to know that). I have always had to uses A-stars because, until recently, they were the only ones to made boots bigger than 13.

The other reason that they might work for you is their replaceable booties that come with them. The Tech 8's have a soft replaceable bootie that you might be able to take out and just use a sock to gain some extra width. You would not want to try the new Tech 10's as the bootie has a built in ankle brace that is pretty tight.

Another option, which I don't really recommend, that I tried about 15 months ago is breaking your leg. You would be surprised how quickly your leg shrinks when you don't use it for 3 months.

I hope that helps
Colin

Try the Fly Talon. Best bang for the bucks. I am not size 13 but I have large calves too.

Look at the Sidi SRS boots. These boots are made specifically for people that have larger calves such as myself. They have adjustable leg risers so you can get that perfect fit. I do not know about the width sizes but my feet are wider than they are long (size 10) and they fit great. Check out any of the online sites such as www.rockymountainmc.com and look at the boots, it will give you some decent info.

Regards,

Hey Sandskipper

My nephew has the same problem and he wears the same size 13's. The only boot that he has found that fits are Gaernes. He is only 15 and we hope he doesn't out grow those boots because there doen't seem to be any other options out there for you big footed guys. He has had this pair for about 1 1/2 years and he says they fit perfectly and are comfortable.

I may not know what I'm talking about on this, but, I thought Alpinestars made custom sizes.

Hey DaleEO

My brother-in-law tried to go that route with my nephew. Alpinestars, along with most of the other manufacturers, said they only make custom boots for pro riders. So my nephew just kept trying every boot made until he found one that fit his big calves and wide foot.
