Milk toast is a breakfast food consisting mainly, though not entirely, of toasted bread dipped in or covered in milk. Milk toast was a popular food throughout the late 19th century and early 20th century, especially for young children and for the ailing, for whom the food was thought to be "soothing and easy to digest". Although not as popular today, milk toast is still considered a "comfort food".

Is "Milk Toast" truly what you wish to feed your Husaberg?

My engines perform best with a steady diet of honesty and facts. :)

Well, since you said "please" here goes.....YOU'RE WRONG! 8O

'Bergs are for discriminating riders who refuse to drink the orange (or red) cool-aid. They think for themselves, outside "the box" the machine definitely isn't for everyone, but to those who hear the siren call of "the FORCE" nothing else will do...(Hey Brett, do I get a discount now?)

P.S. Dale, I happen to enjoy milk toast on occasion, however I substitute Stoli for the milk and pretzels for the toast..... :D
 
Bergs are for people who are doing their best to fill their lives, who don't mind taking what other people consider a risk by not buying J-models, for people who backpack the Grand Canyon, ride Copper Canyon, raced motocross, may travel to Brazil, Chile, Czech Republic, Poland, Rumania, etc..and who may even be over 50 years old but still bench 300+ pounds weekly.

It ain't about age, Sports Fans, someday you will be over 27 years old and with a little luck, you too will still love life and adrenaline and may even be fortunate enough to still ride a Husaberg.

OK, I will play.

In my opinion the brunt of current friction is the result of a rapidly changing demographic profile stimulated by an ever growing, vastly inexperienced, Husaberg dealer network.

Parts are indeed parts, however, experience and knowledgeable product support is an entirely different issue.

Good job BMG for delivering product and parts. Good job Brett for bringing Husaberg to light.

Now, go ask your dealer a question regarding a pre 2004 Husaberg :? .

Commitment:
Their are many pre 2003 Husaberg motorcycles currently in circulation which will eventually need attention.

Good Business Sense:
Very often a first purchase is second hand. If the initial experience is "horrible" likelihood of purchasing a newer model of the same brand is reduced considerably.

Because I know:
The 2000 Husaberg (ie current KTM) engine is a true masterpiece. :shock:

C'mon Dale, you know that was before KTM bought them and began installing their RFS engine! They were known as "Hindenbergs" and rightfully so :cry: :cry:

Well at 50something I could probablyhave bought a 20 somnething but that would have given MRS.50something everything else.
So............
I guess its a new berg every couple of years. At this age its as exciting as the 20 something but I can ride the berg longer :p :p :twisted: :twisted:

I dont like the old Jag anyway ...too hard to keep the motor right and the bulbs lit.
 
We are a new Husaberg dealer(nov 04) and I purposely bought a few pre-03 machines from BMG to get my feet wet.
Top 5 lessons learned are.... 1.Many older models are unique,dont expect the parts on the bikes to be as the parts book shows 2.many changes between 01-02, most concern changes to the counter balancer, also every gear in the clutch cover has a different pitch in 01 than 02,some 02 have 01 parts.3 01-03 electric start button is for looks only :D 4.Bergs are best enjoyed by those who have an interest in machinery and a firm grasp of the obvious.5.All bergs are a hoot to ride and not at all difficult to maintain.....nsman.....another thing(very important)there is a guy on a Husaberg site that knows everything you really need to know about Husaberg ,..... What was the incentive to start the Milk Toast topic?

Indeed they were! However, such was primarily the result of ignorance. The Original Husaberg was a genuine "racing motorcycle" with a finite hard parts life span.

Properly tended the early Husaberg is quite durable in particularly when compared to that of current purpose built race bikes. IE YZF, CRF, Etc.

Truth be told the darkest years for Husaberg were 2001 through 2003.
(ie their initial attempt to be all things to all riders)

My 1999 fe400ee was a great bike and is still going strong today.It did require a sem ign,but BMG had one to me in days.I was not even a dealer for berg then!

The term "Milk Toast" was recently used by a UHE member to describe the politically correct and boring nature regarding threads of late.

I had seen it used before and was not completely clear on the meaning. Since I was unclear I pondered what Takis and / or others using english as a second language would make of it, so I looked it up. :D

I was about ready to scream if I saw one more "I just rode a Husaberg for the first time today!" post. This site like most forms of media, is something you choose to visit and read. If you are offended, speak up or go somewhere else.

Good question Husabomber,
I had done business with BMG when they were the KTM distributor for Canada and in fact they started me as a KTM dealer. I bought the 99 fe400ee as one of their demos and kept it for myself.When BMG and KTM parted ways in Canada they took on the job of establishing Husaberg in Canada and the US on solid business ground.When I needed a part for my Fe400 there was no dealer in my area and by chance the rep for BMG and Husaberg paid me a visit.I got the part and was so impressed with the new bikes I became a dealer soon after.
