Performance improvement of a different nature...I hope

Due to the natural forces of aging I have elected to have intraocular lens replacements(folded type) in both my eyes in an attempt to restore my vision and rid myself of glasses forever. At this point with the second surgery only a few days old I have already achieved 20/20 vision in my left eye(first) and expect comparable results in my right eye over the next few days and my glasses are now in the garbage can.
I was wondering if anyone else out there in Husa-world has had this procedure performed and specifically what effect it has on your ability to ride and see, at speed, on your motorcycle. My surgeon elected to use medium range lenses in both my eyes.

I did not have the IOL, but I did have lasik "flap and zap" this spring. As a wearer of glasses / contacts for 32 of my 40 yrs in existance, I can tell you that 20/20 vision is nothing short of miraculous (I had BAD eyes). The only downfall I have seen (pun intended), is that I see 20/20 everywhere. After all the years of looking thru floating / rotating contact lense or glasses with a very small portion of the lense that wasn't diestorted, to see so much information (peripheral vision, etc) in focus is often overwhelming. I have noted this most when at speed and relearning how to keep focused well ahead, but still be aware of stumps, tree limbs, etc. Depth perception, especially as related to jumps and drop offs still has me riding tentatively.

Where the H-ll does the expression 20/20-vision come from
What does it mean, 20/20???

If you can read "DEFPOTEC" from a certain distance, then you have 20/20 vision, meaning optimal.

As far as "101", the high school system in the US is modular. From what I remember, the first number is the year or stage, the second and third are the part, so in this case this means "stage one, part one".

Now, why do you guys like to take saunas and then jump into frozen lakes?

Tm-enduro,
Thanks for your reply,I did not require glasses until I was 35 yrs old,but in the last 5 years I too found that with the required fully blended lenses that my vision had narrowed to two narrow focal points. The thrill of ripping down a rough trail with your glasses bouncing all over the place is a thrill I will not miss.I too feel that I may have a challenge focusing at all ranges as IOL is only capable of perfect focus in a specific range.

The term 20/20 refers to the established data gathered over the years of what a person sees.Example: 20/20 means that you see at 20 feet distance what the average person sees at 20 feet distance.20/40 means that you see at 20 feet what the average person sees at 40 feet .In europe where metric measurement is used I believe the term for normal vision is 6/6.

Do you have to wait a while before you can ride again, or do you think you can get out for a leisurely spin with the riders/talkers?
