Hey, Joe, looks like a great bike. Aprilia is a legendary marque in roadracing, I'll bet these SM and enduro bikes come with a legendary price tag, as well. Now, a Husaberg will look like a cheap date!

The prices we here in Sweden have been told is actually not that high. A FS650e has 86900sek as recommended retail price and the SXV450 has about 93000sek. They also offer a "race kit" which we don't yet know the content of.

A guy in my motor club has ordered one with the delivery date set to "beginning of december" but I'll belive it when I see it. I mean an Italian made bike distributed to scandinavia by danish people doesn't.....

Per the new issue, Jan. 06, of Dirt Rider Magazine it looks like a proposed AMA Motocross rule change for 2007 will prohibit "any engine configuration with more than one cylinder".

Hopefully the FIM will not follow suit. Aprilia has been working on this project for some time and now the AMA decides to ban it from American soil. What kind of message are we sending out to the world? Oh I know. If you are not a Japanese motorcycle manufacture stay away and don't bother us unless you have a big fat wad of cash that we are now dependant on.

But don't worry the AMA is still allowing 450 four strokes in the 250 class.
Whew..............thats a relief!

The twin is neither legal for Dirttrack or SuperMotard.

This rule change should help buy the Japanese big four some time to play catch up. It just wouldn't be fair for a small company like Aprilia to steal the show and embarrass the competition. The AMA has allowed twin pipes as on the 2006 CRF 250. I guess thats all the twin the AMA can stand for the time being.

If I'm not mistaken the FIM rules for Supermoto say that the "biggest" engine that is allowed is 750cc in a one or two cylinder configuration?!

But you probably meant AMA rules in the states??

I think I read at some norwegian website that it was 117kg

Here are a couple of links for more information

http://www.tmpscandinavia.com/sweden/aprilia/SXV.htm
tmpscandinavia is the danish firm that handles Aprilia in scandinavia.

http://www.motorossi.no/index.html?info ... ageCode=NO
Thought it was here I read about the 117kg's but can't seem to find it now.
