VIN number needed

Hello Everyone

Am hoping someone here can steer me in the right direction. I went to get my 06 fe450 registered today( QLD Australia) and they would not pass it as the VIN number is partially missing. I had not noticed to be honest. How do i find out the VIN number for the bike. Is there anyone who can supply this , KTM?

Any help would be much appreciated.

if half of it is lost at the headstock you're stuffed. there's only the chance that someonbe can X-ray the frame as if checking for a stolen M/C. the 'punch' of the numbers and letters is so deep that the numbers leave an invisible mark 2mm down. Taffy

Is the number worn off the frame on the head stock or is it the ADR (VIN) sticker on the frame, if its the ADR sticker a Husqvarna dealer should be able to get you a replacement through the KTM importer.

Thanks for your replies...the bike is at the shop, ile pick it up tomorrow and have a look. I think from memory its a sticker as i remember thinking it was damaged. But i just assumed it would be stamped into the frame. The chap i bought it off has sent via text a picture of the paperwork when it was last registered, it shows vin and engine number, but am unsure if this will help. I will try a husky dealer as you have suggested. Really hope this doesn't stop me from getting the bike back on the road.
