How hot, and in what sort of riding?

Are the radiators in decent shape?

What fluid are you running?

These bikes absolutely need a fan kit if you are riding them in lower speed trails. Also not a bad idea to flush the coolant and check that the cap is functioning properly.

If the bike is running lean it will also run hot. Are you noticing any issue with engine performance (cutting out or backfiring)?

FE450 running hot - advice

Radiator fan a MUST (I've actually boiled by fuel!) Also run "Engine Ice" coolant or some similar product. Good idea to put a heat reflective blanket under the fuel tank. -Ray, (in the wilderness near Durango, CO)

FE570 Went on a ride boiled the fuel. When I remove the fuel cap the filter sock stood up like A dildo Lasted for more than a minute. The cap had a one way valve on it went back to stock no more dildos. Sorry this isn’t any help but it was funny. A fan something to reflect the heat from the tank maybe some exhaust rap. All can help

Thanks for advice guys.

Ordered fan today and also changed the coolant to engine ice.

Has anyone used the SAMCO silicone hose kit and had improved results..?

The hoses are only going to be worth it if your stock ones are failing. I would check the hose that runs behind the exhaust tube as it tends to break down faster than others because of the radiant heat from the pipe.

I believe the factory ktm kit thermoswitch is set to activate the fan at 100/95C

Many people do however use a BMW switch which brings that down to 90/95C
