I Ride: 2008 450 FE Husaberg
I have found a 2008 fe450e at 109kg dry and 47.8hp
I have found a 1997 fe400e at 104.8kg dry.
It's maybe only the Battery and starter motor making the real difference.

To 2000 FE600 105.7KG and 55hp
1997 501e 109kg and 52hp

I Ride:
Yes the stock battery and starter motor and these can be taken off. The frame on the 2008 has lots of light stuff in bolts and steering head etc. The 08 does not have rear suspension linkage....but does have a heavier adr compliance stuff. I think the weight is in the motor in all the comfort stuff and reliability like starter motor and counter balancer.....steel cam sprocket ....heavier gears? The 92 cases were lighter and no oil pump or filter.....the pipe and muffler were thin metal and light ....the dell orto was light etc. Apart from just feeling light one riding buddy pointed out when I preloaded the suspension before a puddle of water the tyre tread disappeared just before the puddles......not so on the 08. The 92 had a habit of cracking piston tops...cracked suspension linkages....roller rocker bearing and sem ignition problems ....small end bushing lack of oil and wear.. fragile gearbox. ..front and rear sprocket not lining up or cutting into frame.....not so with the 08. 92 manual had direct phone number to Rolland....not so on the 08. Imagine phoning the Honda factory?

I remember Homer Simpson rang Japan about some washing powder called Mr Sparkle with a picture that looked like him on the front of the pack.
Japan Muschy muschy - Homer asking why he is Mr Sparkle.
Japan - you answer question 100% correct
