Just think about that for a moment.
I think he said that he bought it from the shop that rebuilt it.

the bike was purchase from the shop that rebuild it,

So I assume that it was Taffy's. His English is not the best so there may be some communication problems.

It was his mechanic that is fixing it that said he was lucky. I assume because he pulled it apart before it grenaded.

sorry bike was purchased by taffy it's still on his website Taffmeisters - Husaberg, KTM, Husqvarna, Gas Gas, dirt bikes - servicing, tuning, rebuilds, parts

that's how is advertise on his website ( the bike was bought from taffy ''shop'' sold and rebuild by him)

SUPERB FIRST TIME STARTER, LOOK ARE IMPORTANT AND THIS ONE IS THE BUSINESS IT HAS AWSOME GRAPHICS

ONLY BLEMISH IS THE SLIGHTLY DULL EXHAUST SYSTEM, NO SIDESTAND BRACKER ON FRAME

THE BIKE COMES WITH A FULL SERVICE, A MONTHS WARRANTY AND A FULL MOT

THE ENGINE HAS HAD A COMPLETE REBUILD WORTH 1400.00 INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING PARTS/UPGRADES.....

* DVSK, *JETTING KIT, * ROD WITH BIG END PIN *PISTON, *LINER, *MAIN BEARINGS, *NEW VALVES

OTHER NEW PARTS ARE......

*LITHIUM I-ON BATTERY (worth 80), *PRO GRIPS, *REAR CHAIN, *PEARL DROP INDICATORS, *INNER MUDGUARD, *NEW CLUTCH COVER,*NEW FRONT BRAKE PADS, *LIGHT SWITCH

EXTRA INFO ......

*CNC OIL FILLER CAP, *EXTENDED BLUE BRAKE PIPE *FRONT BRAKE DISC BOBBINS *FRONT AND REAR TYRES HAVE FULL TREAD *BILLET CLUTCH CAP, *BLACK CHROME BARS, *FACTORY CNC 17MM OFFSET TRIPLE CLAMPS *MILEAGE 1400.00 *ANDONISED BLUE TYRE AIR CAPS *YEARS MOT *REAR BRAKE DISC BOBBINS *HALOGEN BULB *HAS A NICE OVERFLOW CATCH TANK(CARB) *GENUINE BLACK FUEL TANK

ONLY ITEM MISSING OFF THIS BIKE IS THE SIDESTAND

He advertise it as just been rebuild ...unfortunately quality wasn't done properly...especially cam chain tensioner and lying about the state of the engine head(as he show me the old parts that has been replace and told me that head was perfect) so now i might end up spending 600 for new head and new valve (as we don't know if he used new one or old one)

Trust me Buddy, your not the only guy to get a bad one on purchase, paid $5000.00 cdn, for a 06 that was completely wore out, 58 hours on it. And had to be total rebuilt. $2800.00 later I have a good bike.
So understand the risk when buying a piece of racing equipment, that's right these motors are full out on the edge, and they will fail, that's a fact.

The good thing is you will know what you have now, and be happy that it will not leave you pushing. And you get to know your bike better.

Have you told Taffy how bad it is and sent him the pictures? That might be interesting.

For example Honda CRF ring replacement interval is 15 hours ...

my husaberg will do 1500 hours before I look at it, different bikes I know, but you get the idea of recommended v actual

Out of interest, is the engine number on the receipt you have, and what was the date ?

Many failure possibilities when dealing with three parties - i.e. Taffy does work, shop run bike without putting coolant in it (busy mistake) etc etc

What would I do ?
Because you didn't deal direct with Taffy, there is not much you can do with Taffy, you need to deal with the person/shop that sold you the bike. They will tell you it was sold "as is"
Hey dude, you just must be joking. 1500 hours before pulling apart Husaberg engine??? Please elaborate on this. Usually 200 or 300 hours only. 400 if you lucky. Most I ever heard was 1000 but 1500??? What's your secret? Please do share with us. 70 degree motor or older?

Ran my ktm 525 15,000 kms before it got rings , husaberg 570 will be no different. There were guys in south africa running 30-40,000 km on their ktms before opening them up.

Why would the rings on a husaberg 570 wear out so much quicker then a porsche turbo? OEM is probably the same (mahle?)

Clearly I no longer race. The reality is that I'll probably never see 1000 hours , so don't go worrying about 1500 hours.
Just use synthetic oil. (and I don't change it every other ride either - that's more surplus maintenance)
