Husaberg fe 400 2000 worn cam

hello! I checked the cams when i bought the bike, i could not find any signs of wear. aproximately 1000km afterwards i discovered small shiny chunks of metal in the oil screen. Turns out that cam follower bearing is chewed away along with the camshaft on the exhaust side. Unknown when camshaft was last changed. Im now wondering what caused the problem. Is this a common problem? or could I blame the cheap oil I was running or maybe an oil pump problem? would a complete rebuild of the engine be necesary? Or am i looking at just replacing the cam and follower bearings. I can imagine those metal chunks is having a lot of fun inside the engine.
here are some pictures

The oil pump has nothing to do with the camshaft/valves. The cam chain spray oil in the head. I think the problem is the bad cam follower bearing, they tend to wear faster if the valve clearence is wrong (.12). Anyway, i change them after 100h. You will need a new camshaft and 2 cam follower bearings. A good idea is to check the cilynder and main bearing for wear because the metal chunks goes everywhere...

I can sort a cam for you and cam follower bearings. have a good look around the top end and do a proper job while you are there. go to the softer DVSK (dual springs) while you're there. they could be part of the cause.

look for badly worn rocker shafts
cupped tappet pads
inlets with tuliped faces and seats
exhausts with tipped seats
