Hi Zaga,
I think that your situation is very normal for dirtbike owners
Therefore i feel right at home

Cheers Rens

Hi Husabutt
This fuelbomb is overhere in Holland not really necesarry, because a typical enduro course is about 45 miles long and has 2 possibilities to fuel your bike.
These 2 points are also timechecks, therefore the standard fueltank is enough to come around

Thanks for the info

Cheers Rens

I Ride: Husaberg FE 501 1994
somebody here to have a look at a nice twenty-year-old swedish girl?

Hi to all,

because it's my first post here at husaberg.org first I want to introduce myself. My Name is Oliver, I'm 49 years old and live in the middle of Germany about 100kms away from Frankfurt. Hello to all of you!

Now back to the real essentials.
In summer 1994 I decided to get a follow-up for my Yamaha TT350 with more force. I knew that my capacity for suffering is very high so it should be a Husaberg. But the hunting was very difficult, finally I could choose between a brand new '94 FE350 or a used '94 FE501, both for the same price of 10.000DM (now about 5.000EUR). Waiting for the '95 model was not an option because of the very high price of 14.500DM. I bought the Husaberg in December 1994 from a rider who joined the European- and German Enduro Championship. The bike is a works-edition, exclusively prepaired for these kind of competitions, that's also the reason for the mounted pre '94 rear subframe. In 1995 and 1996 I joined the ADAC-Enduro-Rallye-Cup with only one breakdown - the carb-needle was broken by vibrations. In 1997 the bike was reconditioned with a new piston and bearings, at the same time the colour of the frame was changed from yellow to blue. After the reconditioning in 1997 the bike was only rarely used to check if it's still runnig till 2006. Between 2006 and 2014 the bike was parking in my barn under a bedsheet, I don't know why but this summer I took her out of the barn and removed the dust, after a carb cleaning and fresh fuel the engine starts up. There are still some things to fix, but I could get the mot and registration to use it now street legal.

During the months of winter the frame will be repainted in yellow to get the '94er colour set back. Aditionally the rear fender will be swapped into a baja fender, maybe also the Acerbis-HP headlight will be swapped into a Elba 1.

I have also contacted the pre-owner, he is now the chief marketing officer of Husaberg Germany. He was really surprised to see his old '94 bike in such a good condition and reminded me to take good care of her.

Greets Oliver

Excellent restoration. Did you purchase new plastic or restore the original? It looks like it is street legal but does not have turn indicators (blinkers).

Great job !

Hi Husabutt,
Thanks for the compliment, i did my best.
As for the plastic, it's original because the blue acerbis plastic isn't available anymore, well maybe new old stock but i didn't find anything.
What also important te me is the fact to keep the bike as original as possible.
To youre remark if it's streetlegal? yep,it is allowed to use our arms as indicators

Grtz Rens

p.s. Make sure that youre arms are long enough

I like that large speedometer with the original mount attached to the handlebar clamps. Perhaps in the future (when the gallery is back up and running) you could take some close ups.
