Considering Selling FE570

I don't ride my 2009 FE570 very often, it was bought new Feb. 2011 and only has 20 hrs and 360 miles on it. It has almost every option you could imagine, Rekluse Core, sub frame tank, it is tagged and many, many more options, it has never been dropped. I'm wondering what it may be worth as I don't see many 570's for sale. I'm thinking of getting a new bike and am wondering if this one would put a big enough dent in the price of a new one or if I should just keep it even though I hardly ride it!? Opinions? Thanks in advance, I figure someone on this site can provide me with some good info I want to hear! BTW, I'm in the Midwest!

Get your suspension set up for you and your riding style and it'll feel like you have a new bike. And it'll handle a ba-gillion times better than a new bike. Then ride the piss out of the old girl! It'll be way cheaper then getting a new bike that you will probably do the suspension on anyways. Just my opinion.

Re: Considering Selling FE570

Your '09 was "new" in '11? My '10 was new in '11 but it was a run out here in Oz. If it was new and you spent all that extra money on extras and for some reason don't use it, why do you think you will use a newer bike any more? There aren't many other bikes on the market right now that will stand up to the bike you already have, if any! Unless you are planning to move to a different genre, superbike, cruiser, supercross, etc, i struggle to see the reasoning! Some guys just love spending money so they can say they have the newest stuff.

FYI, this is a berg forum and the only guys that will tell you it's a good idea to get rid of your bike are the same fellas that will try and buy it from you at a discount price. I'm not sure what advice you were looking for but unless its technical, this probably isn't the best place to ask! Ha ha ha!

Re: Considering Selling FE570

I still consider myself a novice rider. I've bought several bikes over the years and my FE570 has got to be one of the easiest bikes to ride in all conditions. I shipped mine with me from Qld Australia (where they were more common) the UK where it is a rare beast indeed. The only other 2 Ive seen for sale in the UK were asking silly prices. Even though this bike is better than I will ever be I just couldnt sell it as there will be no other, unless Husky re-birth the 70deg motor. If yours is reliable keep it, as its a classic and the end of an era.

Re: Considering Selling FE570

I should've provided a little more information, I love the FE570 and have had absolutely no problems with it ever. Part of my issue is that I'm riding 2-up more often and I can't hardly do that with a plastic sub frame so I am considering a 2014 EXC 500 which I can install buddy pegs on via the original foot pegs and get by. I test rode a 2014 690R today and did not like the wide radius, even with maximum adjustments and the front end felt like it was fighting me all the time. So now I'm considering the 500..........I want 2-up capable, EFI, 4 stroke street legal, basically my FE570 but 2-up capable. I am 6'2" and the FE is a touch cramped, especially 2-up! Thanks, the comments are interesting.

Re: Considering Selling FE570

Aha, now i'm getting your drift! I have had my girl on the back of mine a couple of times and it really isn't fun for either of us! Not sure the 500 will be any better, both bikes are pretty similar in size. I haven't ridden a 690 but have been tempted to give one a try on occasion. I come across a few guys on the trail that reckon they are fine but I never see them again once we get to the tighter sections! It sucks but sometimes we just have to make sacrifices! Good luck which ever way you choose!

KTM 990 Adventure is more suitable for 2 person.

Re: Considering Selling FE570

I'm more of an off-roader, want something lightweight and bought a 2014 EXC500, sadly my FE570 is up for sale, it will make a great bike for someone.
