Clock vs. Engine Hours

I just had an inconvenient thought. We all know that the clock feature is notoriously inaccurate. Does that mean that the count of engine operating hours is equally inaccurate?

Possibly, I usually only worry about the klm count for servicing, etc anyway. Not that mine is real accurate in that area either!

Unless it was a high quality aftermarket hour meter I con't know if I'd trust that either. Most of them use a pick up from a 2c bit of wire wrapped around your ignition lead.
