Elduro vs Enduro designation question

I have been trying to research some of the older Husabergs and noticed that in the model # some have a "E" and some have an "e". I also noticed that some are referred to as "Elduro". For instance : FE 400, FE 400 E, and Fe400e

Could someone fill me in as to what the significance of the "e" and "E" designation is, as well as the info about what "Elduro" means?

Re: Elduro vs Enduro designation question

Elduro designated the electric start models back in the late '90s. The "e" or "E" at the end of the model number indicates electric start. Back in the days of the old motor (2000 and earlier) the FE models were available as either kick start only or electric/kick start. I still have the brochure for the '96 models. My first Husaberg was a '96 FE501 that I bought new.

Re: Elduro vs Enduro designation question

In very simple terms;
FC - Four stroke motoCross
FE - Four stoke Enduro
FS - Four stroke Supermoto
FX - Four stroke cross (X) country

Upto the introduction of the 2000 model it kinda went along these lines.
Motocross - Kick Start, 19" rear wheel, smaller capacity tank, no electrics, single air filter.
Enduro - Kick Start, 18" rear wheel, larger capacity tank, full electrics, dual air filters.
Elduro - Electric & kick start version of the Enduro model.
Cross Country - essentially a motocross bike with a full electrics. I think it was only sold in USA.
