Berg Service Recall Post on Ktmtalk Husaberg Forum

Copied from today's posting on Ktmtalk Husaberg forum

Anyone in Canada get a letter yet? This obviously applies to 2009-2011 450's and 570's. The letter was specific to a FE390 customer.

Cheers,

Blaine

Re: Berg Service Recall Post on Ktmtalk Husaberg Forum

from the tech Bulletin:

"This kit consists of 3 fuel screens with a new mesh width of 20 ? identified by the light gray color of the
frame (the previous mesh width was 10 ? with a black frame) and a screw clamp to enable the customer to
independently change the fuel screen if a functional problem arises.
A fuel screen with a mesh width of 10 ? is installed as standard equipment in all EFI Offroad models
beginning with MY 2012. The screen should be replaced with a 20 ? mesh fuel screen at the next
opportunity. Husaberg also recommends changing to the new 20 ? fuel screen in EFI models of model year
2011.
Effective immediately, the service schedule specifies that the fuel screen must be replaced during the first
scheduled service call and every subsequent service call."

"The following figure illustrates the difference between the screen installed in the injection valve (cannot be
replaced) and the replaceable fuel screen. Both screens have a mesh width of 20 ?, but the new fuel screen
has twice the surface area of the screen in the injection valve."

The fuel screen in the injector cannot be cleaned (because you can't take it out) So the came up with a sepaarate filter, accessible from the outside by the owner.
If I knew how to post images I would but....

You do..........see what you know!
