Would anyone have any information or be able to point me in the right direction for helmet camera's?

I would think that there would be some kind of smaller device that you can carry other then a camcorder. Something like a I-pod. Something not as expensive as a camcorder. I tend to crash alot.

Samsung makes a small digital camcorder (model number SC-X210L) that uses memory cards like those used in Sony products. the unit is very small and will easily fit into a fanny pack. Price is approx. $600 not including memory sticks.

I saw one last week that uses the card inside the camera body, and that was all there was; a single tube about the size of a fat cigar. It did everything for about an hours worth of video. Downside was a bit less resolution I guess, but withtodays osftware, couldn't that be enhanced? I'll try to find the source, but he said teh camera was $100 and the chip was $50. New. Brad

Thanks a ton guys. I hopefully will be able to make a decision soon. Before the season starts (which I'm hoping is soon).

the_dude, Corky has been looking into helmet cams for a couple years... as soon as he gets back from sunny Arizona he can show you tons of information on different helmet cam set ups.

There's a high-res DV card recorder out there that hooks up to a small lipstick camera. Trick is to get a high enough resolution camera so you get the max resolution out of the recording device. Most small cameras are pretty low res. You have to choose the camera carefully.

Now that the snow is gone from beautiful downtown Fargo, Corky should be back in a week or so.
