I Ride:
Idle all over the place

Hello
Not been on for a while, only occasional riding these days and alls well.
Except: Last weekend after 20mins of riding, the idle was all over the place, fast, slow, uneven, off, you name it.
No worries i thought, cleared breathers, petrol vent and checked filter - all ok
Still doing it for the next 2 hours - nightmare to ride downhill !!
Otherwise normal acceleration etc fine.
Got to petrol station, refilled - Perfect almost straight away ?

Granted the fuel in the first tank was 3 weeks old, but ran fine for 20 mins. Plus i often use up fuel from 3 weeks before.

Am i missing something daft ?

Regards
Ady

RE: Idle all over the place

i think you had a drop of water get to the lowest point it can which is your carburretor float bowl and right at the tip of the MJ. what a bitch! the other thing is that the fuel tank can't breath. the easiest thing to test ever, bar noe!

ride, open lid, now how does it run?

good luck

Taffy

thanks taffy
yeah that sounds plausable.
Just checking it wasn't something silly i had missed.
A good old clean of the carb should do the trick.
PS. When were a bit more sorted with our little baby, your welcome to join us for a trail ... northern style !
We have a couple of good 80 mile trails up here. And we can put ya up for the night.
We won't be your standard, but it's all for fun at the end of the day.
