I Ride: 02 650 StreetTracker, 08 FE450, 92 Triumph Cafe Racer.
Pretty sure mine is from a multi cylinder bike as it has no choke or hot start.
It had been fitted to a Berg before luckily so the jetting was pretty close.

I Ride: 2008 FE 550
Hi folks - new here. Sold my KTM 690 and got a 2008 FE550 Husaberg. Doing a bit of pre-ride servicing and had a quick question. Hope this is the right spot for a 550 FCR carb question.

So on my bike, this cover, and associated diaphragm and springs, etc. - appears to be missing.



Any idea why? Bike runs fine, is race tuned (carb done by Rick Bozarth / Boss).

The manual mentions a cover, spring, diaphragm, etc. But not its specific function.





Any help for a newb? It's my first FCR carb - prior to this I had an FI KTM 690, and prior to that a stock carb on a DRZ - so these pumper carbs are a bit new to me.

That's just extra crap for pollution reduction. Holds idle up on deaccelleration.

I Ride:
Mine has the cover spring and diaphragm etc, supposed to stop deceleration backfire I believe. I have disabled it
Read it makes it hard to get adjustment on the mixture screw correct the real reason I removed it
Looks to me from your photos that there are no holes drilled for the circuit or that the cover holes have been taped, so may be it is a factory delete option?
