An unrelenting gremlin. FE390 issues.

G'day lads, I'm hoping some of you might be able to help me out. I've
Had a lingering issue with what seems to be fueling or ignition with my bike.
Over the last 18 months I've replaced plugs, fitted a new fuel pump, cleaned the
Injector and replaced filters, nothing has worked. My bike seems to run fine on initial start up and then for about 1/2 an hour into a ride, then it starts to run like a pig. It will snap, crackle, pop and carry on while decelerating, will backfire through the air box if I give it a fistful from low rpm and seems to run lean if I hold it at a constant rpm at low throttle on transport sections.....but from that, seems to run fine at higher rpm with a wider throttle position.
Could it be a Tps issue? Any advice would be grateful.
Thanks guys.

Did you install the KTM inline filter in the fuel hose? Sounds like that.
The filter swells up when it gets warm and start to restrict the flow. The first iteration was a 10micron black, then they "solved" that problem by changing them out to grey 15 micron. Still shit imo.

If it's installed it should be at the end of the hose before the injector assembly. If you find it throw it as far as you can and don't replace it.
Thanks from TomTom and tourist

Unfortunately no, it's not the problem. I put one in, then after 2 rides, after having to pull the bike sort in the middle of the bush, I threw it as far as I could.
It's something else.

Could it be the fuel heating up in the tank? Have you wrapped the exhaust and put some heat shielding on the underside of the tank? There is constant heat being added both from the exhaust and pump recirculating through the bypass regulator. Easy to reset the TPS - never hurts.

Good luck

Kinked hose in the tank? I read somewhere in this forum (supermoto?) that one had a problem with a hose inside the tank that kinked and restricted the fuel when it got warm. As the exhaust goes under the tank the fuel warms up and the hoses gets more soft. He reorganized the hoses inside so they didnt have any hard bends.

Who knows, maybe?
