I just got the new fuel pump from Husaberg last night and it is now installed, bike fired right up with the pump sounding very smooth. My dealer was great and helped me out with getting a good will warrenty for the pump replacement( NO charge) Thanks Scott. Husaberg did want the old one back..Not an issue!!! I hope my bike leaving me stranded or completely ticked off as I have to sit and wait for my bike to cool down during a race are behind me. I have full weekend of riding planed I will let you know if any more fuel related issues arise now that the new pump has been replaced.
Cheers

Did you contact Husaberg/KTM directly, or did your dealer champion this for you? I'm wondering who to contact.
I asked my dealer this info, and they passed me off to their service department. That wasn't what I'd asked for, but I thought it couldn't hurt and they might have some insight. They hadn't heard of any restarting issues at all, and told me to try the hot restart button. Seriously.

No my dealer did all the work for me.. All I did was explain what happened to my bike and the dealer took it from there.. It was quite a smooth transaction. I must admit the bike is running better than it ever with the new pump installed...

Wow you are so lucky that you have a great Dealer that will go to work for you. Mine started to and then just said I would have more pull. What a joke but I guess I will go for it. We will see. I may post the name of the dealership later if they cant get me taken care of. |

bergenstein,
not to stick up for the dealer or anything, i am not a dealer and have actaully never talked to anyone from husaberg, i work for a chrysler dealer and at least for us and goodwill warrantys the customer has more pull for sure, if i call, even if fighting for the person, i rarely get something covered, unfortunatly, if the customer calls and complains directly, even if they have a bogus demand, i have found they are more likely to get coverage or assisstance,
the way i see it the customer relation people dont care if i have to tell the customer no and get my face torn off, but if they have to tell them no themselves they are in for it, is this right? hell no, just the way it is, at least for my company, slightly different since fiat took over but thats beside the point,
maybe your dealer is just lazy, these calls are usually a pain in the arse and you sit on hold forever at least for me but like i said, complete different company, i have no idea if husaberg customer relation people are like this or not,
when you call, be nice, be sure they know you know its a known problem
good luck guys

After falling victim to the fuel pump problem I've been scouring the net for solutions short of the £270.00 dealer price for a new pump and read on another forum that these pumps are sold by the manufacturer for $7.00! So I did a bit more searching and found this.... http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/26...fuel_pump.html
Is this the same pump?

Great find, Pegscraper!!
Even if it isn't the exact pump - it does show the possible price gouging that could be going on.
Do you mind if I repost your link in the Husaberg section on KTMTalk? I mean, I probably will regardless - but it's always nice to ask, isn't it. :^) There is a companion thread like this one on that site and we're trying to raise visiblity on this problem so that KTM/Husaberg will take care of it.
Thanks! E-Ticket

There is another picture from the manufactures site. http://conam.en.alibaba.com/product/251 ... _pump.html
This one is current 3 Amp, 12 V, 30 l/hour, 3 bar (equal to 43.51 psi) and less than $7.00. Anyone know the current requirement of the stock Husaberg / KTM one?
Sure looks like the CA Cycleworks one.
Cheers,
Blaine
