Force Ride 5 - Moab, UT

well, we are gradually (slowly and inexorably) dying as a species, so we need to meet up before we do!

How about a force ride 5 back at Moab again? March 2018 or even the Fall (autumn) of this year?

anyone up for it?

Taffy

I would love to go, been trying to get there for years. I'm sure the bike will still be running then, so count me in.

well if the numbers are only going to be small and to 'suit ourselves' then it can happen I hope! we have a campsite we have been to many times.

now the argument used to go like this so bear with me and just read for a second:
it can get very hot there.
the best week is the second week in September - maybe the third but we didn't use it before because those with children had to get them, back to school and it was a busy/expensive time of year.
we used to have three levels of skill among 27 of us but we either have 7 or 14 and button it up I reckon!

we need to contact I think it was 'red river rock campsite' ....maybe I should just read FR1 or FR2 and not be lazy!

I shall have to ask if I can borrow a bike! the good news is that I can come bearing gifts or labours to pay!

we will end up a small group of dedicated 'Husabittens' one day, guess we need to get it together soon!

cheers

Taffy

Great idea! I would be in for either timeframe (Fall 2017 or Spring 201. My preference is Fall 2017.

Looking forward to it!

I've put a question to a campsite called canyon and will report on what they say?

asked for
how many cabins?
any weekends in september clear?
how much for a group/discount etc?
outdoor canopy/indoor meeting room?
cafe on site?
nearest cafe?

regards

Hello, we have Sept 7-9 or 21-23 2 night stay . You would need 4 cabins @ $80.83 per night total $669.44 We ask for the first nights stay for each cabin to make a deposit of 323.22. We have a 10 day cancellation policy if for any reason you need to cancel the reservation call 10 days prior to the arrival date and you will get a full refund. Please call our office. We are delighted in helping you.

they failed to answer every other question.

the one we used down the road at slickrock has mixed replies...it is a little flea-bitten and we moaned of the cabins 10 years ago. however, we could all camp, RV or cabin within spitting distance of one another.

regards

I think this isn't going anywhere

I've seen more enthusiasm at a funeral

latest from the camp site:
Hello David, the amount of people in cabin is quoted for 2 per cabin. After 2 it is $5.00 a person each night. Yes the cabins double bed under a single. We have a General Store on the property. For photos please look at our web site. RVs are close by walking around is how you can visit. Hope to see you at our campground.

www.canyonlandsrv.com

I can't work out whether there's a covered open area/social room?

ambiguous about the RVs when she ssays that they are "just around the corner".

get off your arses!
