Wrong mid pipe

So it turns out that although the exhaust sounds good, the mid pipe touches the fuel hose inlet that goes into the carb....
All sorts off issues with that
Where it goes 2 in to 1 is further along the pipe then where it should be.
So annoying, only just got it and only test drove it once.
Re jetted serviced it and now im a bit worried il catch alight if I take it out.
I don't suppose anyone can point me in the direction for a mid pipe for my fe650e please?
Or if anyone knows whether other models will fit?
Much appreciated

tilt the carb mate. they'll take 5 degrees no problem! you're talking about the keihin carb right? they are meant to start with a 'U' shaped piece of pipe, then a T-junction and by then the pipe is well away from the exhaust!

regards

Taffy

Hi Taff
Thanks
I'd have to tilt it more then 5 degrees
Yes keihin carb, no u piece just the T further along

Tilt the carb and put a small dimple or dent in the pipe where it contacts the fuel inlet. Many have done this with no complaints in HP loss.

How close can the pipe be before it affects the temperature of the fuel in the carb because I'm debating on getting mid pipe chopped and joined further back...
I dented it but it's still close but then alot of them look close to the carb

I have about a 1/4 inch air gap between the carb inlet and pipe with no issues whatsoever.

I'll try to put up a pic in the next few days.

Ok thanks
Mine has a make shift fp exhaust
The 2 single pipes join into one after the carb
Think I'll try and get it fabricated
