if i'm understanding him correctly those two holes aren't on our frames they were made in "what's left of" the frame guard.
the upsguy is right! it's not attached to the frame, it's attached to the remainder of my frame guard, what used to be there got melted away by the new pipe.

too easy to make on your own. the only thing you probably can't do on your own is make the slots, you'll need a machine shop to help you out with that, and i'm sure if you lay out the slots on the plate with a sharpie, they wont charge you too much to cut them out, 1/4 inch slots, just eyeball 'em in.

Well here's my solution,

I had a shop called B&B Offroad (http://www.bboffroad.com.au) in Australia make this one up for me, It's a master cylinder guard, customized to look like the factory frame guard heat shield.

The master cylinder guard's cost $50 +P/H and the custom one cost me $75 +P/H

Factory frame guards:

That's pretty nice... can they make more? I'm in the US (California) - if I drop 'em a note, will they be able to make one or two more?

Um I'm not sure to be honest, I sent in my Factory frame guard as a template. Ill email him and ask if they made any copy's and if they'll post to the US.

Cheers

Here's some photo's of the guard installed on my berg.

I emailed him and yes he can make some more but will cost a bit extra to ship to the US, but you can drop him an email at chris@bboffroad.com.au or check out there website http://www.bboffroad.com.au/ and tell him Scott Thurston sent you.

Thanks from Ruger

You can get one here... Master Cylinder Guards | B&B Off Road Engineering | Ballarat

I am considering it. Looks like a very nice product.
