Noooooo, you are not to gather, aphrehend, understand, deduce, or otherwise conclude that the frame will get hot enough to melt anything! The exhaust pipe gets hot. Very hot. If you're wearing nylon riding pants it'll melt them on contact and it'll stick to the pipe and maybe to your skin. If you're wearing riding boots with rubber soles it'll melt them on contact. If you crash and the bike lands on top of you with the pipe in contact with you, it won't be the frame that blisters your skin.

Boought a 2011 FE 570 S last week and frame guards are on order. Where does one get this heat shield barrier material?

could you use a couple of these to attach a home made heat shield? They are made by MRD for a DRZ heat shield, but the hose clamps should be the right size, or close enough.

If you're talking about the location just to the rear of the frame near the rider's right boot heel, I think it would be a neat trick just to get those clamps tightened around the exhaust.

Very nice, indeed!
Two questions:
- What is it rivited to on the forward edge?
- Is it painted or did you have it anodized?

Well, son of a gun. My 2011 FE570S doesn't have those two tabs on the rear edge of the frame.

if i'm understanding him correctly those two holes aren't on our frames they were made in "what's left of" the frame guard.

I'd pay for one if you would like to make another, thanks.
