Different startor motors

Hi to you all just a little question about starter motors, i understand that the r6 starter turns the engine faster but as anybody tried a mitsubi sm 223 .12v 0.6kw starter.
as i have a honda cb 250 with this stater motor fitted i tried it on my 650 2002 berg with a very slight mod to the starter it fits ok missing the decomp wire on the kickstart, the only prob i have had is that the startor shaft has one more tooth than the standard berg one so was going to take the gear that the starter runs on to my local gear cutter( he as just cut all new gears for our works evo rally car ) to see if he can help, as anbody tried other mods ?

there is a chance he'll say that the splines still work ok.

point is, it's untried and needs work so i guess even if it works it's not going to be a s popular as the other answers found. good luck with it though!

yes it's the speed of the engine that counts.

I think that easiest way to sort it out is get the r6 than make gear and try something new, which is not known. But on the other hand, the world belongs to the brave people...
