5W tail light bulb.

One of the filaments burnt on the bulb. The Berg dealer was closed so went looking for the 5w. Lowest I could find anywhere was 6.8W. Didn't want to chance blowing a cuircut so shined it. Did I do the right thing? I'll get the 5W tommorow.

A common 1157 dual-filament bulb, available anywhere, works just fine.

Thanks John. The 1157 was 6.8W. I need to go and pick up some Husaberg hats tommorow anyway and will get their Stanley P21 5W while im there
How many of you put the 1157s in there?

5W versus 6.8W are effectively the same bulb. I'd have no problem at all using the cheapest option.

I`m tired of this bulbs now.. The vibrations kills my tail light after only one days of driving when driving gravel roads...

I bought a LED bulb now, wich i hope stands out the vibrations better.. Expencive, but worth it if it stays alive...

something like this ?
puting this on requires the 2 signals (tail and stop signals) to be rectified first using brigde diodes.
if not they will not light on full power, but they will light anyway

You can go w/ an LED assembly such as that sold by www.sicassracing.com. I have one, and the unit comes with the rectifier circuit integrated into the package. I've been running it for almost 3 years now and it's going along fine. It also has the license plate white illumination as well. The unit draws and entire 9/10 th of a watt.

Hi guys, just food for thought on an alternative, I bought & fitted an Acerbis tail light unit (also LED), which has a small bracket for the license plate. Being so small it tidies up the back end quite a bit, ref photo;

You can buy it here; http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/2/ ... light.aspx

Cheers
