The starter clutch assembly itself costs about $250 (last time I had one quoted). The starter should be around $30 delivered if you get a used SM-14 from a parted CBR on eBay (we have many threads about that). There is a gear in between the starter and the clutch, I don't know the price but it should be around $75. Battery: $75 for a Yuasa, half for a non-Yuasa. You'll still need the starter motor bracket (around $50 if I remember correctly), the battery box (don't know the price), solenoid (so many available), and wiring (it should be pre-wired).

sorry for beeing mean, but when your engine is a hard starter with the kickstart,
do you think it would start better with an e-start?

The ´02 were´nt the best e-starters at all. It often depends on some mechanical issues (e.g. auto decomp device)
and some electrical (SEM stator) on how the bike starts.
So it could be that besides the parts you need, it could be necessary to do some modifications on the engine to achieve a good e-starting engine.

What is your problem? Do you have ergonomical problems with the kicker or is kicking just a nuisance to you?

I had a 2002 FX470E.The E-start was the worst feature
on the bike.If your bike is starting hard now,the electric
will have problems also.Just keep the carb cleaned and tuned,
the valves adjusted, and put in a new plug if it doesn't start on
the 3rd kick.

Man, long time no see.

Since you last showed up, we've had the pleasure of welcoming Sparks, the SEM magician.

All is great in the land, now.
