race ignition curve

SEM Ignition module 1999-2003. all models.

I've had about 6 ignition modules repaired and customers ask for the 'race curve' as well. the first feedback I had was that it was 'better in town' but no faster.

however, I sold one to a hill climber and he has used his for the first time. it is an FC470 that has been ported, race cam, bellmouth mod on a Keihin 41mm carb.

he reports that the 470 is "far easier to ride" and a "lot faster now". it's very smooth and the top end is much better. so much so that he now has a real job changing gears quickly enough!

I also have one on my fully tuned 400 and now I know what he means. I used it two weeks ago on Dartmoor in Devon and there is a lot more power everywhere, somehow the engine is smoother?

If any of you ever have your I.M "go" and you come to me for a repair, well get the race curve for the extra money as I think that it's worth it!

unfortunately it costs the same to tune it as to repair it.

I did do one for someone in the USA who was upset by the work. I couldn't get to the bottom of why because the feedback wasn't great but there you go. just trying to be balanced.
