2009 FE450 horn wiring

Hello first time posting and first time owning a Berg. I have only ridden the bike once and have all ready started working on it. I bought a kit from Sicass for $275 and a ignition key $49. I bought it because i read that it was well worth the money and it was a plug and play, for the most part it was however there are a few small problems/challenges.

1)The rear brake sensor is not heat shielded and comes with in 2 cm of the exhaust
2)Instructions are kinda vague and don't inspire confidence
3)This one might be me (it is 1 in the morning and i have run out of energy) but i cant for the life of me figure out where the dam horn goes. I have a mounting place for it, but the wires there are a few left but none with the same connectors. There are i think 3 from the sicass kit and 4 or 5 from the bike. This is where the plug and play has stopped for me... The bike is a 2009 FE 450 can some one help me. Does the horn plug into the sicass kit or to the bikes original wiring. I have to change some connectors any way but i don't now what ones.

Other than that small problem this kit just takes some time nothing to hard i give it a 80%

Just wondering if you have got an answer to your question. I am also curious where you mounted your horn.

I have an '09 Fe450 with the light/horn switch off a 2010 and am completely stumped about the horn wiring also.

The wiring for the horn is buried near the main frame tube, I had to pull the tank and right radiator. Its two small blade connectors and the wiring is very short, I made an extension and mounted the horn behind the left radiator. If you have the cev switch from the 2010 wired correctly, the blue button will activate the horn.

Found it. Yep really short and buried really deep. The switch is even wired correctly. Next project is to rewire the kill switch from the stock '09 to the '10 cev switch and get some bar space back.

Horn

i know This is an old thread, so i hope you're reading this.

I have a 2009 FE 450, and was trying to install the horn. I found the wires.
On the handlebar is a CEV switch with a red kill switch button and blue horn button. And light switch. At the bottom there are 2 plastic tabs where the blinker switch could be installed. There are NO blinker switches
I took the tank off, and connected the terminals of the horn.I believe it was a grey and blue/yellow wire. They were 2 flat 6,3 mm connectors, i'm pretty sure that was the horn wire.
But the horn doesn't work. Sould the horn work when the engine is not running ? Or does it only work with running engine ?

Or do i have to install it a different way, get my self another CEV switch ?

The horn only works when the electrics are on, you have to hit the start button quickly and the horn should work for a few seconds, or you could just start the motor and it should work constantly.

So the battery is only for the starter motor. The horn doesn't extract power from the battery when the engine isn't running, ok I got that.
Now i only have to find a mounting point for the curved bracket.Difficult to reach when the radiator is still attached.

It's just to connect the two cables you found. Generally the problem is the button as it use to be corroded as that button is not used much. Connect the horn, spray 5-56 on the button and try a few times. If it doesn't work check the wires for obvious cuts, if not take apart the button and clean it up.
You can also check that the horn is working by connecting it straight to the battery.

No. The horn takes power from the battery but there is a relay that cuts off the power when the engine is not running. If you blipp the starter button without starting the engine the system wakes up for a few seconds. Then you can test and see if everything works.
Thanks from Rainerio
