Not really much info to work with there ...

If the bike turns over, it's not all dead.

How do you know the EFI has failed? Does the yellow light flash any sequences?

What happened the last time you had the bike running? Did it die or did you turn it off? What have you done since?

Check for power at the fuses. Fuse 2 should be permanent live (+12v). Fuses 1,3 & 4 should come live via the power relay when the engine is cranked. Fuses 1 & 2 feed power to the ECU with an orange and a black/blue wire respectively. If you have power at the fuses check for power at the ECU connector. If you get no power at fuses 1,3 & 4 when the engine is cranking check the operation of the power relay and work back from there towards the rectifier/regulator and the generator.

hi pegscraper
got power at fuses
i have just linked out the the power relay and .started runs for 5 secs and stops .
repeated few times the same every time .
fi light came on and flashed 2 times this suggest pulse generator fail.
what does the pulse generator do ?
any advice would be grateful.
thanks roger

I reckon the pulse generator will be the crankshaft position sensor as shown on the electrical diagrams. It sits in the crankase just below the generator rotor and gives a pulse everytime the crank rotates 1 turn. It's accessible by removing the generator cover but check the wiring to it first.

Re: 570 e f i failure

It doesn't seem to me that the fault is the pulse generator if it will run for 5 seconds.

Did this happen while riding or while the bike was sitting? If while riding, was there any sort of incident that may have precipitated it? Did you do any work on the bike between the time that it ran properly and then didn't?
