Dual sport kits for 2010 Fe570

I just bought a 2010 Fe 570. What other options do I have besides the ugly BajaDesigns dual sport kit. I would like something more like the stock appearance. Thanks

Depends on the requirements of your state. In Florida you have to have a two phase headlight, horn, brake light, at least one mirror and license plate light. Turn signals are not required. All I had to mine was put on a different tail light with integrated license plate light and a mirror. I went farther and put on Dunlop 606s (D.O.T.) and had the rims balaced.

I plated my 2010 FE450. I bought a blinker kit from SicAss Racing. It had everything I needed except the mirror. Low profile LED blinkers, horn, better switches, and the needed wiring harnesses. I think it looks as good as stock. Here are some photos if you want to take a look...

You can buy stock stuff. I used all stock but the turn signals. The stock flasher is pricey. Best go to an auto parts place for that.[attachment=0:uq7yzirk]wiring to add turn signals.doc[/attachment:uq7yzirk]

Thanks much, gives me a good place to start. Va. requires pretty much the same as Fla. With the exception that turn signals are not required, if they are there they have to work. Oh , was the Sickass pretty much plug & play ?

The Berg comes with mounting holes for the front blinkers. So if you by standard blinkers they are a piece of cake to install. You can also buy handguards that have blinkers built in, but I feared they would get smashed too easily. You will have to do some drilling or something to mount the rear blinkers though. And it took me a while to figure out where to mount the horn.

The main wiring harness comes with the bike, but you need additional harnesses to connect the front and rear blinkers.

The horn wires are probably tucked under the frame near the radiator. Depending on where you mount it you may need to extend the wire length.

So once you get all of the right pieces it is pretty easy. I just didn't know what all the right pieces where, which is why I went with the SicAss kit. It was pricey, but good quality.

I will look @ that kit, & also using the stock components. Will the stock parts plug right in ? Im not fooling w turn signals as they are not required. I do have to get some DOT tires. I have looked @ the dunlop 606s & the Metzlers that come stock on 2011. Any info here is appreciated. I may have to post this subject in another forum. Thanks again all.

If you don't need blinkers then what exactly do you need?

My 2010 FE450 came with hi/low beam headlight, front/rear brake light, and tail light. The horn wiring is there, but no horn. And I had to add a mirror.

I thought the 570s came street legal? I am confused about what you need to change.

I had my dealer swap the stock tires for Dunlop 606. I only have about 40 miles on my bike, but so far I am happy with the tires. I can't offer any comparison experience though.

Re: Dual sport kits for 2010 Fe570

First I havent got it yet, its on order will be here in 2 weeks. I know the headlight is not DOT, I dont think it has brake light or brake light switches. I saw the high/low switch & horn switch. Maybe someone can tell me if it has the brake light switch on theirs. I was just going by what the dealer said, they wanted to sale me a Bajadesigns kit. I will go by there tom. to see what I can find out. Mine is the first one they are going to convert so I can pick it up plated. The 2011 model is already street legal, 2010 is not. Thanks, all help appreciated.
