My 2011 FE390 has guards that sound the same as yours - and I believe they are stock. As usual, mine runs hot - on one occasion in 95F heat I boiled the gas on a hill climb. Three suggestions: 1. Install a radiator fan if you don't have one. 2. Install a heat shield/blanket under the gas tank (find them online). 3. Use "Engine Ice" or some other brand of additive to the coolant. I have not boiled the fuel recently - those upgrades really help and should have been factory items. If you have not had heat related fuel pump failures, then your bike probably has the better fuel pump from the factory. Youtube vids cover this problem. This bike is the best I've ever ridden. Ride safe and HAVE FUN! - Husageezer in Colorado.
