Ah yes of course Its leaking from between the clutch cover and block, just below the exhaust pipe, I would say at about 10 o'clock of the clutch cover.

Thanks

That's right where the oil pressure feed comes through the case and transfers down to the crank. I think there are a couple of possibilities.

Since you mentioned the orange berg kit.... The water pump bearing in the orangeberg kit fits a lot tighter than the stock one, did you have a moment when you finally got it to slip over the O ring on the shaft and maybe popped the side case on, possibly damaging the gastket?

#2. The orangeberg kit water pump bearing is not seated all the way? This could cause the case to not seat all the way.

#3 The gasket some how got moved out of place when you were putting on the side case.

Either way, you are going to have to take it back off again. Clean the area where it is leaking from well before dis-assembly, and as you lift the side case have a look to see if the gasket is out of place. At leas that way you will know that's what caused it.

I forgot to ask how bad the leak was. So how bad is it?

Other than that you can either use grease as suggested here, or I use three bond 1211 sealant. A really thin coating on the gasket, both sides. With the bike on it's right side, Lay the O ring for the water passage on, then lay the gasket on top of the center case making sure everything is lined up. Both dowels are still there right? Then carefully work the side case on, be sure and put some grease on the water pump shaft grease, and use the little piece of heat shrink that comes with the orangeberg kit to cover the circlip ring on the water pump shaft to protect the water pump seal.

Hope this helps.

Wow too many options :-\

#1 Nah, I was very careful in putting in the sidecase to make sure I didn't damage anything.
#2 This could be the case, I assume it should be sitting completely flush... I'l have to check this.
#3 Could also be the case, the gasket is not visible from the outside in all locations...

It's leaking a few drops when I stop riding, sometimes a couple of drops at the lights.

If it doesn't stop leaking I'll redo it and use the threebond 1211, new gaskets and a good clean and of course that orangeberg condom thingy

Thanks for the suggestions mate.

small update, the oil is actually leaking from the bolt hole next to the waterpump... Not from the gasket. It looks like I have to take it apart again. That'll be the 4th time

so the small ring is in the book on balance shaft section and its metric and 20NBR so its suitable for rotating machines and not just cheap ones for taps/faucets
the part number and description
0770010012
0-ring 10, 00X1, 20NBR
They are around 2-5$ (US) online + shipping
